Punters think it will be another former number one pulling on the Green Jacket.
Brooks Koepka (13/2) has seen the most money on the Masters market since the closing stages of day three at Augusta.
With 33% of bets on the market in the last 12 hours, the 28-year-old is the main challenger to Tiger Woods (7/2) as far as punters are concerned. Four-time winner Woods would certainly be the popular choice, but with 28% of bets following his sparkling day three, he’s just behind his fellow countryman.
Currently three shots behind leader Francesco Molinari (7/4), Koepka was frustrated at times on day three, but punters have seen enough to suggest he’ll reel in the Italian in the final round.
Managing three birdies on the front nine but also dropping four shots along the way, he steadied himself for the back nine with some trademark monster drives.
Way out at 28/1 in the pre-tournament market, odds on the big-hitting American were slashed as he shared the lead with compatriot Bryson DeChambeau after day one.
Having won the US Open twice and the PGA Championship, Koepka is no stranger to success on the biggest stages in golf.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “It’s no secret who patrons want to see pulling on yet another Green Jacket later on today, but there’s some serious challengers firmly in the mix, not just from the last group.
The old trend of winners almost always coming from the final pairing on Sunday has been upset several times in the last decade, and punters fancy Koepka to be the man to buck the trend again.
With play already brought forward due to adverse weather conditions in Georgia, it could well be a day where the leaders slip up.”
