When will golf return? Revised major championship schedule

We look at the latest golf fixture list and bring you insight from professional tipster and trader, Niall Lyons.

It’s now been confirmed that the 2020 Open Championship has been cancelled. This news came after the Masters at Augusta suffered the same fate.

What is the updated schedule for golf?

Golf’s governing bodies have released a new schedule for the Major championships, which sees three of the four moved to the back end of 2020. However, the Open Championship won’t be back until July 2021.

The updated fixture list looks like this at the moment:

  • The Open Championship: Cancelled
  • PGA Championship: 6th – 9th August 2020
  • US Open: 17th – 20th September 2020
  • Ryder Cup: 25th – 27th September 2020
  • The Masters: 12th – 15th November 2020

On the course with Niall Lyons, professional golf tipster and trader

While there’s no golf to enjoy at the moment, we’re already looking forward to its return.

We went to Holywood Golf Club, the home course of four-time major champion Rory McIlroy, for 18 holes with professional golf tipster and trader Niall Lyons and to gain an insight into his edge over the bookmakers.

He gave us some interesting betting angles and picked out a few golden rules you should follow as a golf punter.

Like us, Niall has been engrossed in the world of sport and betting for a long time. With years of gambling industry experience, he has an eagle eye for value and has married that with his comprehensive and encyclopaedic knowledge of golf.

Oddschecker's resident golfing expert has enjoyed some massive winners during his time with us and has become one of the sport's most respected tipsters. If your question is this; 'How do I win more golf bets?' then you should get comfortable and take some notes.
