Genesis Invitational Tips: Leishman must be backed around 50/1 mark

Marc Leishman has all the credentials to win and must be backed around the 50/1 mark, said Niall Lyons in his Genesis Invitational Tips.

Big things on the horizon for Leishman

The golf tipster - up a huge 109.16 pts so far in 2022 - believes that big things are on the horizon for the Aussie, now pairing a strong tee to green game with his best putting season to date.

He finished just outside the top 15 last month at Torrey Pines, where he matched the score of winner Luke List for the final three rounds after starting slowly with a first round 71.

Leishman has been clipped in from a best price 50/1 if you want the eight place terms but remains 55/1 in the tournament winner market on bet365 (five place terms).

The world number 36 also leads the way for total single golf bets on oddschecker so far this week, with Chilean Joaquin Niemann in second place. Niemann was tipped by Lyons at 66/1 with eight places but has since been cut into a best price 40/1 if you want the extra places.

Masters Champions clicking into top gear

Leishman might have attracted the greatest number of single bets, but he does trail the last two Masters champions Dustin Johnson (16/1) and Hideki Matsuyama (25/1) for total single stakes.

Matsuyama has been in sparkling form in recent weeks, following his win at the Sony Open in Hawaii with a top 30 finish at Torrey Pines and a top 10 at last week’s Phoenix Open. Johnson, meanwhile, showed form of his own by finishing eighth in the recent Saudi International.

The leader for total single stakes on oddschecker at this point last week was Scottie Scheffler, who went on to win the Phoenix Open after beating Patrick Cantlay in a play-off.
