We check on the latest golf betting odds to find the bookmakers' favourite to win the US Open 2023 at LA Country Club.
The US Open, golf's third major championship of the year, was already eagerly anticipated even before the PGA Tour & DP World Tour agreed a shock merger with Saudi Arabia's PIF to 'end' the hostile split at the summit of the sport.
So, how is the betting market shaping up for next week's action?
Who is the favourite to win the US Open golf tournament?
World number one Scottie Scheffler is the favourite (8/1 best price) to win the PGA Championship 2023 at LA Country Club. World number two and reigning Masters champion Jon Rahm can be backed at 9/1 with several bookmakers (worst price 8/1).
LIV Golf's US PGA champion Brooks Koepka breaks up the world's top three at the top of the betting market (12/1) with third ranked Rory McIlroy edged out to 14/1 (still as short as 10/1 in places).
Northern Irishman McIlroy was a best price of 10/1 at the start of this week, suggesting bookmakers believe this week's events off the course will take its toll on the 34-year-old, who labelled himself a “sacrificial lamb” during his press conference in the build-up to this week's Canadian Open.

The oddschecker golf expert also calls himself a 'broken record' in reaffirming the importance of the most recent major result in determining the likeliest contenders.
Viktor Hovland was in the final group at the 2022 Open Championship then the penultimate group at the 2023 Masters and once again in the final group at the USPGA.
Koepka, meanwhile, fought it out with Rahm in the final group at the Masters in April, which provided the perfect stepping stone to him landing his fifth major next time out at Oak Hill.
The last eight winners of this event have also finished inside the top 13 in their previous major finish.

Cantlay to upstage the top four market leaders?
Patrick Cantlay has emerged as an early betting favourite for Lyons having shown the best form among those who hit his key betting trends. He has four 'top fours' in California dating back to the Amex in 2021, one further top 10 and two more top 20s.
The 31-year-old also has a win at Sherwood and hasn't missed a cut in California in his last 16 starts. Throw in the fact he is becoming a lot more consistent in these majors with two top 10s and two top 20s in his last four tries and he could well be the next first time major winner of the US Open.
