Anthony Kim LIV Golf Odds: 13% chance of a Top 10 Finish for Kim at Jeddah

The former world number six golfer will return to action for the first time in 12 years this week in Jeddah as he takes part in the LIV golf tournament.

“Ak,” as he was affectionately known, debuted on the PGA tour in the Texas 2006 Open, securing an impressive second place in his inaugural event. The remarkable ability he displayed earned him instant respect from the best players in the game at the time, like Phil Mickelson.

Kim went on to achieve success that many pros can only dream of, with three PGA tour wins and a third placed Masters finish being among the most notable of all his achievements. The American also competed in all four majors during his stint and was widely regarded as the most exciting player since Tiger Woods dominated the scene.

He was even a part of the 2008 USA Ryder Cup team that dismantled Europe in Valhalla, where he was victorious in the opening match of the Sunday singles against Spaniard Sergio Garcia, whom he will compete against for the spoils in Jeddah this week.

Anthony Kim faced a series of setbacks, eventually succumbing to several career-altering injuries that he suffered from between 2010 and 2012.

His last hurrah on the PGA Tour came with a regretful withdrawal after the first round of the Well Fargo Championship in May 2012, making an abrupt conclusion to his once-promising career.

However, 12 years later, 38-year-old Kim is set to reignite his career when he heads to Saudi Arabia with LIV Golf after commissioner Greg Normann announced he would take part in the event which starts on Friday March 1st.

Who Are the Favourites in LIV Jeddah?

Jon Rahm is the bookmakers favourite for the event. The Spaniard has made late mistakes in his last two LIV Golf events that have cost him, and he takes to the Royal Greens course for the first time in his career.

The second favourite is American Dustin Johnson, who, unlike Rahm, is more experienced at this course. He won the Saudi International here in 2019. He is coming off the back of a 5th place finish at LIV Mayakoba and a 1st place finish in LIV Las Vegas.

The third favourite is Joaquinn Niemann, who has already won this season with a play off victory over Sergio Garcia in Mayakoba, Mexico.
