Rory McIlroy is among the favorites at Augusta, but what price is he at the Masters 2024.
Rory McIlroy will tee it up in his 16th Masters this week, and as ever, there is plenty of excitement around his chances of winning his first Green Jacket.
When looking at the 2024 Masters market, you don't have to look far for the World No.2, who is rightly among the favourites, but how can we expect the former Masters runner-up to fare this week?
Rory can be backed at 13/5 to win a major in 2024, which means bookies, in particular, Sky Bet, think there is a 27.8% chance of him returning to winning ways in the four biggest golf events of the year.
If he were to do so, McIlroy would pick up his first major since the 2014 PGA Championship, as he is closing in on a 10-year drought in the majors. Breaking that run of major-less seasons here would be the dream, as he looks to complete the coveted Grand Slam.
What are Rory McIlroy's odds to win the Masters?
Rory McIlroy is 11/1 to win the 2024 Masters on Boylesports, but is as short as 9/1 with several bookmakers in the UK, as he is seen as the closest challenger to Scottie Scheffler. Given he is the #2 player in the world, who has had multiple chances to win this major already, his odds should come as no surprise, but can he live up to the billing?
At 11/1, bookies think there is an 8.3% chance that he wins the Masters this week.

Rory McIlroy Masters Record
Rory McIlroy has an excellent Masters record on paper, highlighted by his T2 finish in 2022, his best Masters finish to date.
It was in 2011 though that he had his best chance of winning The Masters, as he went into the final round with a four-shot lead, a year before he had won his first major championship. A final round 80 saw him fall to 15th, and despite being in the mix at the halfway point the following year in 2012, a poor weekend meant he finished 40th.
In 2016, Rory had a chance to contend again, as he went into the weekend one shot back, but a third-round 77 took him out of contention, in the end finishing 10th.
2018 was his next-best chance after the 2011 renewal at Masters success, as he found himself in the final group with Patrick Reed, but the American had a three-shot lead, which he held on to, while Rory slipped back into 5th.
Overall, McIlroy finished inside the top 10 seven times in 15 starts (46.7%) and thanks to a final-round 64 two years ago, he posted his first runner-up finish at this event. A missed cut in 2023, when there were too many distractions for the man from Northern Ireland, can McIlroy put in another stellar performance this year?

Rory McIlroy Last Major Win
Rory McIlroy has not won a major since 2014, which is a disappointing drought for someone who comes into almost every major as one of the favourites.
Thankfully, he rattled off four major wins in the early part of his career, cementing his status as one of the best-ever golfers, but he will certainly need to add more, hopefully here, to silence the critics.
His last major win came in August 2014, when he beat Phil Mickelson to capture the PGA Championship, a major Mickelson won seven years later, despite being 51!
That was McIlroy's second major win of the year, as he had won the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool, edging out Sergio Garcia and Rickie Fowler. Both Garcia and Fowler were looking for their first major at the time, with Garcia finally capturing his first at the 2017 Masters three years later.
