Tiger Woods is well placed to make his 25th cut at the Masters.

Five-time champion Tiger Woods said the body is "OK" after completing 13 holes in -1 on the opening day of the 2024 Masters. However, the 48-year-old will have to play 23 holes on Friday to complete rounds one and two, so can he make the cut?

The bookmakers believe Woods is more than 70% likely to reach the weekend at odds of 4/11 on Paddy Power. If he was to make the cut, he would take sole ownership of the most consecutive cuts made at Augusta record with 24.

Woods has made the cut on 23 consecutive occasions between 1997 and 2023 (he missed the tournament in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2021).

Fred Couples (1983-2007) and Gary Player (1959-82) are the others on 23.

It was also be Tiger's 25th weekend at the Masters having made the cut as an amateur on his first appearance in 1995 (his only missed cut came in 1996).

That would tie him level with Ben Crenshaw on 25 cuts made at Augusta National, with only Jack Nicklaus (37), Fred Couples (31), Gary Player (30), Raymond Floyd, Bernhard Langer and Phil Mickelson (all 27) having made more.

How many make the cut for the Masters?

The top 50 players and ties make the cut at Augusta National Golf Club. Tiger Woods sits inside the top 20 (T17) after the opening day of action.

However, there are a number of high profile players on the cut line in the early stages. Jordan Spieth is T54 after playing his first 11 holes in +2 including a double bogey on his opening hole.

Meanwhile, along the LIV Golf contingent, 2020 winner Dustin Johnson is precariously placed at +1 thru 10 holes (T42). Johnson holds the 72 hole record of 268 strokes at the Masters.

He carded four rounds of 65-70-65-68 to better the previous record of 270 set by Tiger Woods in 1997 and matched by Jordan Spieth in 2015.

Johnson is one of just 11 players including Woods to record four subpar rounds at the tournament on two different occasions (2019 and 2020). Woods has done so on five occasions in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2010 and when completing his last win in 2019.

Johnson also matched Jordan Spieth’s (2015) 54-hole record of 200 during his 2020 win.

The two highest profile players at odds against in the current Masters make the cut odds are three-time winner Phil Mickelson (2004, 2006 & 2010) after his opening round of 73 and Hideki Matsuyama (2021 champion), who carded a first round 76 (+4) including just a single birdie.
