Tiger Woods PGA Championship Odds 2024: Odds to Win, PGA Championship Record & Last Major Win

Tiger Woods returns to Valhalla Golf Club, the scene of his 2000 PGA Championship win. What are the odds of a repeat this week, and how will he fare in 2024?

Tiger Woods will tee it up at Valhalla Golf Club this week, as he makes his 23rd start in the PGA Championship. A 15-time major winner, and a three-time PGA Champion, how will Tiger Woods fare in Kentucky this week?

In 2024, we often just feel fortunate to see Tiger Woods play. With the injuries he has suffered and the operations he has had in recent years, nothing is a given, so there is always that sense of feeling of 'enjoy it while you still can'.

Tiger Woods is the ultimate competitor and will never accept that fare for himself though, and he will be looking to make an impact on this tournament.

Wood is now priced at 66/1 to win any major in 2024 which suggests there is a 1.5% chance of him winning one of the three remaining majors. In reality, the chance is lower than that even, but this is Tiger Woods, so Sky Bet are avoiding taking too much of a chance on him. By even offering the odds for him to do it, they are exposing themselves to public money coming in.

A win this week for Tiger would take him 16 major titles, two short of Jack Nicklaus' record of 18, and that is surely the only goal left for Woods and the reason for him to keep going every time his body allows it.

Woods' 2019 Masters win was considered a miracle, but in reality, he was a 14/1 shot going into the week and had won the Tour Championship at the end of 2018. Now he comes into the week without a top 10 since the Farmers Insurance Open in 2020 and with a top 20 in a major since that win. His injuries have completely derailed the latter stages of his career, and now it really would be miraculous if he won the 2024 PGA Championship.

What are Tiger Woods' Odds to Win the PGA Championship This Week?

New oddschecker grid partner, AK Bets are offering 300-1 odds on Tiger Woods to win the PGA Championship this week, and that is double the odds of the shortest price available. While some sites refuse to take a chance on the GOAT, some like AK Bets are happy to take your bets on the 15-time major champion.

At 300/1, the implied probability of Tiger Woods winning the 2024 PGA Championship is 0.3% - that is an accurate representation of where he is at in his career now.

Tiger Woods PGA Championship Record

Tiger Woods is a four-time PGA Championship winner, winning in 1999, 2000, 2006, and 2007. It has been 17 years since he tasted victory in the competition.

Woods finished 2nd as recently as the 2018 PGA Championship, as he came with a charge on the final day, shooting 64 to put the pressure on champion, Brooks Koepka.

It has been pretty grim reading for Woods in this major since, finishing MC, T37, and WD in three starts, but it's been hard for him in all the majors.

Jack Nicklaus and Walter Hagen both won five PGA Championships, so Tiger would love to tie them here and he at least returns to a course he won at in 2000. He missed the cut here when the PGA Championship returned to Valhalla Golf Club in 2014.

Here is Tiger Woods' record at the PGA Championship in full, since making his debut in 1997.

Tiger Woods Last Major Win

Tiger Woods' last major win came at the 2019 Masters. He has been through hell since then to get his body back in a position where he can compete like that again though, and it looks like an uphill battle for him to ever win a major again.

He's probably already done enough to cement himself as the GOAT, despite falling short of Jack Nicklaus' major record, but a win in any of the four majors going forward really would top it off.

When Tiger won the 2019 Masters he had ended the previous season by winning the Tour Championship, and later in the year won the ZOZO Championship, so he was still an ultra-competitive player five years ago.

Everything changed again for Woods after his car accident in 2021, and he has failed to compete at the level he expects since then. He has been making cuts in majors still, and that is to be commended, but anything beyond that looks a tall order.

Tiger Woods PGA Championship Odds

Below is a table of all the relevant odds for Tiger Woods at the PGA Championship this week.

In my eyes, the markets to look at are the make the cut and the miss the cut markets, as depending on which side of that debate you fall on, you have a chance to make a nice bet and one that will be decided before the weekend.

If you do think he will make the cut, then look at the Top 40 market as well, as every time he's made it to the weekend in this event, he's finished inside that number.

Top 20 Finish 11/1 11/2
Top 40 Finish 5/1 15/8
