Rory McIlroy returns from a three-week break at the Scottish Open.
Rory McIlroy is back at The Renaissance Club on a renaissance mission of his own three weeks after US Open heartache at Pinehurst.
The Northern Irishman will be defending the Scottish Open title he won last year as part of a stellar field including 2022 winner and this year's PGA Champion Xander Schauffele.
The event falls just a week before the final major of the year, the Open Championship 2024, McIlroy's last attempt to avoid a 10th straight major-less year.
Other big names at the Scottish Open 2024 include Open Championship holder Brian Harman and the 2022 and 2023 US Open winners Matt Fitzpatrick and Wyndham Clark.
Two-time PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas also starts a two-week title tilt in Scotland, as does two-time major winner Collin Morikawa and home hero Robert MacIntyre.
McIlroy held off MacIntyre to win by a single stroke 12 months ago.

Who is the favourite to win the Scottish Open?
Rory McIlroy is the bookmakers' favourite to win the Scottish Open 2024 at a best price of 15/2 on bet365 (implied 12% chance). To back him to win the tournament directly through oddschecker at a guaranteed best price, click here.
Challenging conditions meant a winning score of just -7 for Schauffele in 2022 but expect scores to head towards the 20 under mark this time around unless the weather bites. In 2021 (won by Min Woo Lee), 34 players made double figures under par.
