Masters 2026: Odds, Tee Times & When Does It Start?

Masters 2026: Odds, Tee Times & When Does It Start?

The 2026 US Masters tee times have been released.

All eyes return to Augusta National, as a 91-player field of golfs elite gather for the 90th edition of the Masters 2026.

Rory McIlroy returns as defending champion, chasing back-to-back Green Jackets after completing his masterpiece last year, yet arrives having now competed since The Players in mid March and recent fitness concerns with a slight injury forcing him to withdraw at the Arnold Palmer. Scottie Scheffler, the world No.1 and twice a winner here, has been the benchmark for consistency over the past 18 months, but even he shows signs of vulnerability, with his usually elite iron play dipping in recent starts.

Behind them sits a deep and dangerous chasing pack. Xander Schauffele and Tommy Fleetwood arrive in strong form, while Cameron Young and Matt Fitzpatrick bring both recent results and major championship pedigree. Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau add further intrigue from the LIV contingent, both showing dominant form away from the PGA Tour.

There’s also a growing sense that the next wave of talent could break through. Players like Ludvig Åberg, runner-up on debut in 2024, along with emerging names such as Akshay Bhatia, Nicolai Hojgaard and Min Woo Lee have the talent, if not yet the experience, to contend.

That lack of experience, however, remains a defining theme. Augusta has long punished first-timers, and with over 20 players making their debut this week, history suggests the winner is far more likely to come from those who understand its nuances. Knowledge of where to miss, how to attack, and when to stay patient is often the difference between contention and collapse.

Add in the returning champions, 18 in total, including the likes of Jordan Spieth, Hideki Matsuyama and Dustin Johnson, and the field becomes a blend of proven winners, in-form contenders, and ambitious newcomers.

Who is the betting favourite to win the Masters 2026?

Scottie Scheffler – 7/1
Scheffler’s case is still built on elite Augusta-specific credentials: two wins in the last four Masters and consistently dominant strokes-gained profiles over the past five years. His scrambling and tee-to-green consistency are tailor-made for Augusta National, where recovery and approach play are critical. However, the key nuance this year is a visible (albeit slight) dip in his usual week-to-week dominance. Early-round inconsistencies and stretches of relatively average iron play have crept in during 2026. Even so, he’s still producing top-25 finishes almost by default, and his ability to peak over the weekend remains intact. At 7/1, he deserves favouritism given his ceiling and track record, but he doesn’t arrive with quite the same aura of inevitability that has defined his recent Masters wins.

Bryson DeChambeau – 14/1
DeChambeau is entering the Masters in arguably his strongest major-championship form in years, backed by recent LIV wins and a consistent trend of contending in big events (six top-10s in his last eight majors). His driving distance gives him a clear advantage at Augusta, particularly on the par 5s, where he can create scoring opportunities that others simply cannot. However, the deeper statistical concern lies in his approach play and around-the-green performance compared to some of the best. He loses strokes around Augusta historically (-0.2 per round) and scrambles at a lower rate (~56%), which becomes costly when missed greens are inevitable.

Jon Rahm – 12/1
Rahm arrives with one of the most well-rounded resumes for Augusta, including a Masters win in 2023 and a generally strong record of tee-to-green efficiency at this course. What sets him apart heading into this year is the clear resurgence in his approach play. After dipping in his first seasons on LIV (around 0.39–0.45 strokes gained per round), he’s now back near 1.0 SG per round on approach in 2026. That matters significantly at Augusta, where proximity and control into greens dictate scoring chances. While his recent LIV schedule has limited PGA Tour comparisons, his consistent top finishes suggest consistently top performance. At 12/1, Rahm is a strong play at the top of the market.

When is the Masters 2026?

The Masters is one of golf’s four major championships and is held annually at Augusta National Golf Club. In 2026, the tournament takes place from Thursday 9 April to Sunday 12 April, with the field competing over four rounds following the traditional Par 3 Contest on the Wednesday. It’s always the first major of the year and signals the start of golf’s peak season, played at the same iconic venue every year.

The first tee time on Thursday is at 12:40 featuring Johnny Keefer and Haotong Li.
