The Americans head to Medinah with a formidable squad on paper. Snedeker's six captain's picks - Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Chris Gotterup, Jacob Bridgeman and Jackson Koivun - add further strength to an automatic selection already packed with major champions. The US have dominated this competition historically, winning 13 of the 15 Presidents Cups and holding a 13-1-1 record overall, with their only defeat coming against the International side at Royal Melbourne in 1998.
At 4/1, the International team may look a tempting price on paper, but Ogilvy's side has a significant task ahead. Three of his six captain's picks - Nick Taylor, Nico Echavarria and Ryo Hisatsune - are Presidents Cup rookies, highlighting an attempt to inject fresh blood into a team searching for its first victory since 1998. The International side has also been hit by the changing landscape of professional golf, with LIV Golf reducing the depth of players available for selection.
