Bristol De Mai's impressive Peter Marsh Handicap Chase win has prompted punters to back him for Gold Cup success.
The Nigel Twiston-Davies trained six-year-old eased across the line, some 22 lengths ahead of nearest challenger Otago Trail in second, in a dominating performance.
The convincing victory was enough to persuade some punters to back Bristol De Mai to win the Gold Cup. His price has been cut from 66/1 to as short as 14/1, with 25/1 still available with SportingBet.
All the talk pre-race was about Colin Tizzard's French import Alary, who was well beaten before the run for the line and was pulled up. But the race in the end was all about Bristol De Mai, 4/1 joint-favourite with Alary, who pulled clear with ease down the home straight when asked by jockey Daryl Jacob.

The win capped a good day for trainer Twiston-Davies, who watched The New One dig deep to claim the Champion Hurdle Trial ahead of Clyne for a popular win for the yard.
It was also a fine afternoon for Oddschecker tipster Sam Turner, who after landing four out of five selections the week before, came up trumps again with three winners. Turner had picked both Bristol De Mai and The New One while Neon Wolf, who started the day at 5/2, got his tips off to a winning start earlier in the day at Haydock.
