Cue Card scratched from Ryanair Chase

Cue Card will take on stablemates Thistlecrack and Native River in the TIMICO Gold Cup after being scratched from the Ryanair Chase.

Cue Card has been scratched from the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham, meaning he will run in the Gold Cup, the festival's blue riband event.

Cue Card had been a general 3/1 market leader for the Ryanair Chase but connections have decided to go for the big one despite being heavily beaten by stablemate and Gold Cup favourite Thistlecrack in the King George on Boxing Day.

Cue Card will have his final outing before the Gold Cup in Saturday's Grade 1 Betfair Ascot Chase, for which Colin Tizzard's star is no bigger than 1/2.

Djakadam, last year's runner-up, is the only horse in the top four of the Gold Cup market not trained by Tizzard.
