Frankel colt now second-favourite for the Classic in June.
Frankel looks to have another Classic contender among his crop of 3yo's as John Gosden's Cracksman became the latest son of the great racecourse to put his name in the ring for June's Epsom Classic.
Sporting the same colours as 2015 Derby winner Goldern Horn, Cracksman was sent off the 4/6 favourite for Epsom's 'win and you're in' Derby trial. The 3yo travelled strongly off a steady gallop before being switched to the outside to mount his challenge under Frankie Dettori. The response wasn't instant and there was a number of traffic issues, but once in the clear the colt stayed on strongly to just get up in the shadow of the post, nabbing Permian in a photo-finish.

His trainer said after the race: "They went no pace and he got well and truly shut in and couldn't get out, and I'm delighted with how he picked up. I like the fact he finished strong. I'm very pleased with him and he will come on a bundle for it. We will go for another run, whether it is Chester or York".
A number of bookmakers were suitably impressed, cutting the unbeaten colt into as short as 9/1 for the big one in June. Others however, were less impressed and kept him unmoved at 12/1.
