A quick round-up of where the money has been in this morning's markets
The first of today’s movers comes at Dundalk in their 19.00 1m Handicap where BORDER PRINCE is the one punters want to be on. Placed just once in his seven starts to date, his last two runs came at tonight’s destination including a second over the mile trip back in May. The booking of Colin Keane is a positive and the 14/1 on offer yesterday evening is now just 6/1 with most firms (best price 7/1).
In the penultimate race on the Dundalk card, POITIN is the springer in the market. A hugely versatile type, the seven-year-old mare has won nine of her 49 starts to date over trips ranging from 7f to 2m. A previous course and distance winner, she’s won at this venue no fewer than five times already. Originally priced up as a 16/1 outsider this morning, she’s been backed into as short as 15/2 with one firm (best price 9/1).
At Newton Abbot KALMBEFORETHESTORM has been well supported off the back of a 528 day absence. The nine-year-old has won once from his 18 starts but that win did come at this track back in 2014. He’s tumbled down the weights and has been given a chance by the handicapper and having originally been the 18/1 outsider of the four-strong field, he’s now into 4/1 with most bookies (best price 5/1).
Again at Newton Abbot another horse to see their odds tumble is AZURE FLY who has been the subject of plenty of bets. Charlie Longsdon’s nine-year-old performed with credit in better races last season and today’s 3m trip shouldn’t pose any problems. A course and distance winner, bookmakers originally priced him up at the 5/1 mark but this morning’s support has seen him backed into favouritism and 7/4 with one firm (best price 2/1).
