Cracksman’s withdrawal has seen a shift in betting with the Irish St Leger winner a popular pick.
We are now just one week away from France’s biggest race and Cracksman’s withdrawal has seen the market shift and one horse that is proving popular with bettors is the Irish St Leger winner Order of St George.
Following his success at Curragh, the five-year old has received a quarter of all bets placed and can be found at 12/1 for a major win at Chantilly. This is double the amount than the current odds-on favourite Enable, with bettors keen to lay on the overwhelming pick of the bookies.
Enable has won six out of seven races and the three-year old whose Grandsire is the famous Galileo is a best price of 10/11 to keep his remarkable strike rate going.
Another horse that is also receiving love is Brametot. French-trained, there would be no more popular winner trackside next week and bettors fancy his chances, making him the second-best backed horse. He remains however at 14/1 with one bookmakers and an average of 12/1 with others.
Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “We saw just what Order of St George can do when he won at a canter at Curragh in the Irish St Leger. Enable remains the one to beat but it’s unlikely he’ll have everything his own way come race day. One thing is for sure, this race is shaping up to be something very special!
