A quick look at the springers in the market across this morning's markets
The first of today’s springers in the market is at Worcester where PRIVATE MALONE has been popular with punters in the 15.10 Handicap Chase. A previous course and distance winner, Emma Lavelle’s eight-year-old has finished in the first three in six of his ten career starts to date. Back from a 139 day break today, market vibes suggest a strong performance is expected with the 12/1 on offer this morning now replaced by odds of 5/1 in places (best price 13/2).
In Newcastle’s opener this evening ASTUTE BOY has been well backed for the Ed Vaughan stable. The three-year-old has yet to finish outside the top two in all of his four starts to date this season including when just outstayed at Haydock three weeks ago. Another bold bid appears to be on the cards today with the 6/1 now just 7/2 in places (best price 4/1).
Also at Newcastle tonight, ROCK WARBLER is a popular favourite with punters in the 19.15. A winner at the track on no fewer than three occasions, Oliver Greenall’s four-year-old has gone close off higher marks earlier in the season and should have conditions to suit today. Originally priced up at 7/1 last night, strong support has seen those odds shrink to just 3/1 with one firm (best price 7/2).
Finally in Newcastle’s finale there has been money for JORVIK PRINCE at fancy prices this morning. A winner of just one of his twelve starts to date, the three-year-old was last seen finishing eight of 14 at Beverley back in July. 22/1 this morning, each way thieves look to have been busy with one firm now going just 15/2 (best price 10/1).
