A round-up of the four most popular horses in the markets this morning
In Bath’s 15.40 there Has been strong support for the now favourite PASTFACT. Malcom Saunders’ three-year-old completed a hat-trick earlier these season including two wins at today’s venue but has been beaten on his last two starts suggesting the handicapper might have had his say. However, punters clearly feel there is more to come and the 5/1 on offer last night is now just 2/1 with one firm (best price 5/2).
In the following race at Bath, LADY JOANNA VASSA also tops the market after proving popular with punters. A short-head winner yesterday at Musselburgh, the Richard Guest-filly makes a quick reappearance today in a bid to follow up after escaping a penalty for that victory. As big as 7/1 this morning the four-year-old has more than halved in price with some firms and is a best price 4/1 favourite.
In the concluding race at Newton Abbot, MAGUIRES GLEN will be going in search for his first win over hurdles since 2014 for trainer Grace Harris. Placed over shorter at today’s venue 10 days ago, the nine-year-old has been backed in from 6/1 first thing to 2/1 in places (best price 11/4).
Finally in Bath’s 16.40 5f handicap, NUTINI is the springer in the market. Placed just once in 12 starts to date, the four-year-old was last seen finishing seventh of 13 over a mile at Chepstow 18 days ago. Punters obviously believe today’s significant drop in trip will do the trick and the 8/1 this morning is now just 11/4 with some firms (best price 7/2).
