A run-through of the most popular horses in the market this morning
In the second race on the card at Yarmouth today, there has been support for AMPLIFICATION at big prices. The two-year-old cost connections £210,000 and is related to St Leger/Gold Cup winner Leading Light. The trainer’s younger horses usually come on for the run so the strong market vibes could be a real indication that a big run is expected. As big as 33/1 this morning, bookmakers appear unsure of what to expect from the Ed Dunlop runner with some firms now as short as 17/2 with others still 12/1.
Also at Yarmouth, the Listed 15.10 has seen DUBKA receive plenty of support. The Sir Michael Stoute four-year-old is yet to add to her four career wins to date this season but has finished second in two Group 3 contests over the summer. As big as 5/1 this morning, Ryan Moore’s mount is now only 11/4 with some firms (best price 7/2).
In the 16.40 at Yarmouth COVERHAM is a well-backed favourite. Placed in eight of his 16 starts, the consistent three-year-old is still yet to get off the mark. A 6 length fifth on his latest start on heavy ground at Leicester three weeks ago, punters have backed him to finally get his breakthrough victory today. 10/3 on first showing, he’s a general 2/1 favourite with most bookies (best price 5/2).
In Windsor’s finale, SACRED WAY has been popular for Kevin Ryan and Jamie Spencer. Sent off at just 7/2 for his second career start, the three-year-old was eventually beaten 7 lengths into fourth. A return to turf today is obviously expected to see him in a better light with the 6/1 of this morning now a best price 7/2.
