Aidan O'Brien is looking for his first win in the race since 2012 with Kingsbarns
Oddschecker users have sided with the favourite for Saturday’s Group 1 at Doncaster with Aidan O’Brien’s Saxon Warrior the most popular selection in the ante-post market. Also currently for next season’s Derby, the Deep Impact colt is a perfect two from two including a win in the Group 2 Beresford Stakes last month.

Currently best price 15/8 for the one mile contest, just shy of 30% of total bets on the race so far have been for Ryan Moore’s mount, someway clear of the next two on the list Chilean (12%) and Loxley (11%).
The second and third on the list are both available at double-figure odds with Martyn Meade’s Chilean now as big as 14/1 having been as short as 9/1 in the week. He does however have the man with the midas touch on board in the shape of Andrea Atzeni. The King of Doncaster has won the last four renewals for four different trainers and looks to extend that incredible record to five on Saturday.
Loxley meanwhile has been going the other way in the market, shortening from as big as 20’s to a best price 14/1 following his connection’s decision to supplement him for the race.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: "Saturday will show us just how good Saxon Warrior is when he races for the first time on English soil. That has done nothing to dissuade punters of his value for the Racing Post Trophy though. A win would surely see him shortened further to win the Derby, a double last achieved by another O'Brien horse in the superstar Camelot."
