The betting for Saturday’s Listed Chase at Kempton has been dominated by one horse.
Malcolm Jefferson’s progressive chaser WAITING PATIENTLY, best priced at 11/4, has received over 72% of all bets placed on the ante-post market in the last week, whilst current favourite God’s Own has took less than 10%.
With the rush of support showing no signs of slowing, it will be no surprise to see the seven-year-old lead the market come Saturday as the seven-year-old bids to improve his record to five wins in five starts for connections.
Current favourite God’s Own was no match for Smad Place on his seasonal reappearance, when finishing a disappointing sixth in the Old Roan Chase, but with strong form in the book, bookies are obviously not keen to take him on have him at a best price 11/4.
The winner that day failed to match his Aintree effort next time out at Ascot when only manage fifth in a Grade 2 when sent off at 5/2 joint favourite. Punters aren’t quite as convinced this time, and the iconic grey has received little over 3% of bets over the past week.
