The Coventry Stakes winner has been drastically cut to win the 2000 Guineas.
This morning the John Gosden horse could be backed for next year's feature race at 20/1, however following a very impressive victory in the Coventry Stakes he's been cut to as short as 4/1.
Despite not matching Calyx at Ascot, Sergei Prokofiev has also been cut by the bookies winning the 2000 Guineas, O'Brien's horse is now as short as 14/1 for May's show piece.
Since Calyx took the spoils, he's accounted for a massive 94% of bets for the 2000 Guineas, compared to Sergei Prokofiev's 4.6%. Some sharp minded bettors managed to get on the Coventry Stakes winner at 20/1.
Oddschecker spokesman George Elek said: "It's still very early to judge this horse, but he's two outings so far have been very impressive.
“John Gosden appears to have another very good 2 year-old on his hands, and bookies certainly believe it's the real deal as 8/1 are the best odds still around for the 2000 Guineas."
