Enable wins the September Stakes at Kempton and has the Arc in her sights

The five-time Group One winner wins comfortably and will now travel to Longchamp.

You never know if a horse will return to the track and perform to the level they once had, but anyone doubting Enable (not that there were many) were silenced as the 8/13 chance romped home in the September Stakes at Kempton, ahead of Crystal Ocean.

Frankie Dettori described the performance as ‘Awesome’, as the four-year-old looked imperious after 342 days off the track.

Sir John Gosden however said that Enable will ‘Have to improve’ after being at ’80 percent’, but even so, she’s muscled her way to the top of the betting for the Arc and it is easy to see why.

Available at 11/2 for the prestigious Paris event before this afternoon’s race, she is now as short as 6/4 to get the job done, with a best price of 9/4 still available.

That’s shorter than the likes of Sea Of Class (5/1), Cracksman (7/1) and Lah Ti Dar (10/1).

A whopping 93% of all best on the Arc since the September Stakes have been on Enable, with multiple three-figure stakes placed.

As for Crystal Ocean, Sir Michael Stoute was not committal on sending the runner-up to Longchamp but it would be surprising if he was not there. If you still fancy him, he’s available at a best price of 12/1 (out from 7/1) for Arc glory.

Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “Enable was brilliant to watch as she blew Crystal Ocean away to win the September Stakes. The Arc is now firmly in hers and John Gosden’s sights, and it’s no surprise to see huge money coming in for what is now the clear market favourite.”
