We take a closer look at the horses moving in the markets across the UK and Ireland today.
First up in the 15:10 at Newmarket, it's COLLIDE. Starting out at 5/2 when markets opened, the price has shortened to 7/4 in places, settling at a best price of 6/4. A son of Frankel, it's no surprise punters are backing this colt to go places. Coming into this off the back of a convincing five length win at Nottingham off a mark of 87, the going looks to be just right for a repeat performance.
Next at Ascot, we have GEORDIE DES CHAMPS. Originally priced way out at 13/2, he's now as short as 3/1 with some bookies, available at a best price of 4/1. Two wins under his belt earlier this year but a poor performance at Uttoxeter last time out in July. His record suggests he is unlikely to struggle over this distance today though and that could be decisive.
Finally, in the 17:00 at Newcastle is FRIENDLY ADVICE. Priced at 5/1 when markets opened, the odds have tumbled in to 11/4, with a best price of 10/3. Making his handicap debut here, his last race resulted in a fourth place finish at Hamilton where he showed promise in a challenging field on soft ground. His first two races were over 5f and the drop back to that trip here will favour him in his first effort on the AW surface.
