Zizou has been cut from 14/1 into as short as 13/8
Zinedine Zidane has had his odds slashed into the clear favourite to become next Chelsea manager, following a flurry of bets on the appointment.
The Frenchman has been cut from 14/1 yesterday, into as short as 13/8 clear favourite this morning, with money continuing to pour in on the three-time Champions League winner.
Zizou has been the most backed for the job over the last 12 hours as well, attracting 64% of all bets on Maurizio Sarri’s successor.
That’s replaced the early punter’s pick, Frank Lampard, who is the most backed over the last 24 hours. However, he has gone largely unfancied in the last 12 hours.
Elsewhere, another Chelsea legend in the shape of Gianfranco Zola is the bookies’ second favourite for the job at 6/1, followed by Laurent Blanc at 9/1.
A familiar face in Guus Hiddink is the 12/1 contender for the job, followed by Atletico Madrid gaffer Diego Simeone (14/1) and Jose Mourinho (14/1).
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Given that Zidane is unlikely to be without a job for long, this gamble suggests that Maurizio Sarri's time in west London could be coming to an end.
“He remains odds-on across the board to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post
