Five horses seeing the most support on a mammoth day at Ascot!
The feature race holds the most backed horse of the day as Waiting Patiently continues to receive heavy support in the Grade 1 despite being up against some seriously tough rivals in Politologue and Cyrname. A 7-win streak was brought to an end in the King George when Brian Hughes was unseated so Oddschecker users will hope he can stay in the saddle.
Black Corton opened up as big as 4/1 but has since been backed into 3/1 and gone favourite with a few bookies. A horse that is synonymous with jockey Bryony Frost, the wins have dried up for the pair over the past 12 months since disappointment in the RSA Chase. Punters will take confidence from the C&D win here last year.
Leading a 14-strong field, Al Dancer is the Oddschecker users' choice for the Betfair Hurdle. You only need to look at the form book of the six-year-old this season to see why, with three wins out of three, the most impressive an 11-length victory at Cheltenham in December. The 12lb rise is not scaring anyone off and trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies knows what it takes to win this race.
The 11/4 currently being taken on Top Ville Ben could look to be a very shrewd move if recent form is anything to go by. Philip Kirby's seven-year-old has proved a revelation over fences, going two from two and has won both races by a combined total 59 lengths. Intimidating numbers.
Rounding off the top five is another from the Ascot Chase, Fox Norton. The top class chaser was struck down by injury just over a year ago so it was good to see him make a good account of himself on reappearance at Ascot in January. There is absolutely no shame in losing to Altior and punters will be hoping Tizzard's hopeful will rediscover his Grade 1 winning form.
