David Pipe’s inmate has been cut from 20/1 to 8/1 for the Grade Three at Sandown
Extra Mag is being heavily punted to win the Imperial Cup at Sandown this Saturday, receiving 28.6% of bets on the market today.
Available at 20/1 yesterday, David Pipe’s horse has been consistently backed this morning and is now as short as 9/1 for the Grade Three National Hunt hurdle race.
The five-year-old is one from three over hurdles, finishing a promising 1st and 2nd in his two most recent outings in January.
Second favourite Winston C (8/1) has been the second most backed with 12.1% of bets whilst Bennys Bridge (10/1) is the third most with 11%.
Oddschecker spokesman, George Elek: “The weather forecast has thrown Extra Mag's name into the ring, trainer David Pipe has already been quoted saying the more rain the better.
"At the backend of February Extra Mag could still be backed at 25/1, those shrewd ante-post punters will licking their lips seeing 8/1 being quoted by some firms”.
