In a race that was expected to be dominated by Buveur D'Air, Laurina and Apples Jade it was outsider, Espoir D'Allen under Mark Walsh who took home the spoils.
The 5yo forged ahead with two fences to jump and was a winner by 8 lengths over Melon (20/1), who led the race in the early stages.
Two-time Chmpion Hurdle winner Buveur D'Air fell while in mid-division, while Apples Jade and Laurina both failed to find anything extra as the race developed.
Rank outsider Silver Streak (80/1) rounded off the place terms in what was the shock of the festival so far.
