14/1 shot most backed for 1000 Guineas

One horse has caught the eye of punters for Sunday's race at Newmarket.

Punters have been piling their money onto a particular runner in the 1000 Guineas. Priced as short as 9/1, but availble at a best price of 14/1, Mot Juste has been getting plenty of attention in the market.

The most backed for the race in the last 24 hours by far, the three-year-old has accrued a massive 63% of bets in that time.

Trainer Roger Varian confirmed last week that he would have both Mot Juste and Qabala in Sunday's race at Newmarket. The latter is the current favourite, priced at 3/1.

The stablemates clashed at Newmarket earlier this month, with Qabala winning that contest by a couple of lengths.

William Buick will be riding Mot Juste this weekend in light of Andrea Atzeni's six-day ban.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: "She may be the stable's second string behind Qabala but punters clearly think that Mot Juste can reverse the form of that last run and land the spoils at Newmarket.

"Given that she finished just 1 3/4 lengths behind the 1000 Guineas favourite, a repeat performance would likely land some place money."
