Coral-Eclipse: Where's the money going?

Coral-Eclipse: Where's the money going?

We reveal what punters are backing in Saturday’s Group 1 at Sandown.

When is the Coral-Eclipse?

All eyes are on Sandown this weekend and the centrepiece of the meeting, the Group 1 Coral-Eclipse at 15:35.

We've taken a look at the market and picked out which horses are the most backed in the Coral-Eclipse.

Who’s the favourite?

It’s no surprise to see superstar ENABLE (10-11) topping the market for this one. The dual Arc winner reunites with Frankie Dettori for her seasonal reappearance and the money has inevitably piled in.

The most backed in the market in the last 24 hours with 47% of bets, John Gosden’s five-year-old was last seen winning the Breeders’ Cup back in November.

Though near untouchable at her best, concerns have been raised over the fact she’s not raced over 1m2f since April 2017.

Less than a length shy of Enable in that race at Churchill Downs, the second favourite for the Coral-Eclipse is no pushover.

Second most backed by punters with 26% of bets, Aidan O’Brien’s MAGICAL (7-2) is attracting the most attention other than Enable.

Second to Crystal Ocean in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Ascot last month, she’s still considered one of the best fillies in training and plenty will see her as representing value at 7/2.

Each-way shout?

Hughie Morrison’s TELECASTER (12-1) could look well overpriced if re-capturing the form that saw him see off Too Darn Hot to win the Dante in May.

A disappointing run in the Derby sees him enter this race with a point to prove and 13% of punters in the last 24 hours reckon the three-year-old can return to form emphatically.

Where’s the money going?

  • Enable - 47%
  • Magical - 26%
  • Telecaster - 13%
  • Mustashry - 9%
  • Regal Reality - 2%

Who won last year's Coral-Eclipse?

Last year's race was another shootout between John Gosden and Aidan O'Brien. Gosden came out on top with Roaring Lion holding off the challenge of Saxon Warrior.
