Friday's Horse Racing Market Movers

We take a closer look at the horses moving in the markets across the UK and Ireland today.

The biggest mover of the day is KINGSLEY KLARION in the 13:30 at Wolverhampton. As big as 8/1 earlier today, he is as short as 2/1 currently, and best price 11/4. Has offered very little as of late, however the trainer is John Butler who is known for landing big gambles. The horse is running off the lowest mark of his career now and if he can avoid blowing his chances out of the gates, could be dangerously well handicapped. The market is normally a good guide for his horses and the movement today must mean plenty are expecting a good run. Very interesting and well worth keeping an eye on.

Over at Newmarket SKONTONOVSKI, who Oisin Murphy has been booked to ride, was 15/2 earlier, and is now as short as 11/4 and best priced at 7/2. It is his debut race and as always with these races the market seems to be telling. A very nice pedigree, with his sire Harbour Watch having won at Newmarket before. Could be a useful type and will have a lot to learn but this movement could mean Richard Spencer’s yard are hopeful of a big run from the two-year-old.

JALAAD is another mover who has been backed into favouritism at Newmarket in the 19:30 this evening. Now a best price of 7/2, he could be found at 11/2 this morning. The Godolphin horse was beaten last time out, and is back in handicap company today. Adam Kirby is back on board, who is the only jockey to have won on him before. On previous efforts it may seem a tough ask today, but the money coming in for him warrants attention.
