Thursday's Horse Racing Market Movers

Thursday's Horse Racing Market Movers

We take a closer look at the horses moving in the markets across the UK and Ireland today.

CHOOKIE DUNEDIN who is running in the 14:30 at Chelmsford City is now a general 9/2 shot having been 12/1 earlier in the betting. This four-year-old has not won a race since his victory here in December last year. However, he arrives today 8lb lower than that win over 5f. This must be catching the eye of punters and they fancy the four-year-old to continue his impressive record at Chelmsford. Trainer Keith Dalgleish is in good form, firing in nine winners in the last two weeks. This track clearly suits Chookie Dunedin well and Tom Marquand should get the most out of him today. Punters have eyed up his course form and off his current mark, he has to go close.

FAR BIHOUE runs in the 16:35 at Fontwell. As big as 14/1 in the market yesterday, he is now a best price of 9/2 and as short as 7/2. He races at Fontwell for the first time today and the money pouring in for him makes for interesting reading. He has been beaten a long way in both handicaps he has run in so far this season. However, his last run was his best yet, placing among respectable company. He has undergone wind surgery since and this must be a key reason behind the movement for the horse. Punters must believe there will be significant improvement. The trainer, Stuart Edmunds only has a small stable and has a strong record with horses running after wind surgery. It will be an intriguing watch to see if he does indeed come on for the wind surgery. Given the movement for him, many will be expecting a big run this afternoon.

Finally, RED GERRY running in the 19:55 at Tipperary was 11/2 earlier in the betting, but is now as short as 3/1 and a best price of 7/2. Trainer Noel Meade is trying his three-year-old in another handicap this evening hoping he can finally break his duck. He has run some good races as of late and can count himself unlucky last time out. He ran into trouble throughout the race, with no clear passage. When there was space, it was too late but he kept on very well, giving the impression he is a well handicapped horse. Punters have caught on and the money is coming in for the gelding. Colin Keane is on board and is in hot form, having landed the Sky Bet Ebor at the weekend.
