Friday's Horse Racing Market Movers

We take a closer look at the horses moving in the markets across the UK and Ireland today.

The first mover of the day is FAST AND FREE running in the 15:05 at Thirsk. She was 3/1 earlier in the betting but is now a best price of 11/8 and as short as 6/5. An exciting filly from the William Haggas yard who showed a lot of improvement from her debut when finishing a solid fourth at Newbury last month. The winner of that race, Boomer, has gone out and won again, and is now rated 99. The horse that came fifth also went out and won next time out at Kempton. The form of that race is highly impressive and on that alone she has to stand a great chance today. She is stepped up in trip again today, to a mile, which should suit. Danny Tudhope on board only boosts her chances. There is plenty of money coming in for her and it is no wonder punters have backed her into being a very strong favourite for the race this afternoon.

Another massive mover at Thirsk is DREAMSELLER in the 17:15. As big as 14/1 in places, he is now a best price of 5/1 and as short as 7/2. Yet to get off the mark in his ten starts, today’s gamble makes for interesting reading. Running over a mile today, like he did on his last outing, punters fancy him to finally break his duck. Last time out at Beverley he came a disappointing tenth after some promising runs this season. However, his wide draw last time out ensured he was always up against things and given this, his run was actually quite respectable. He is in a lower standard of company today and given his form so far this season, punters have been keen to get their money down on the three-year-old. He is down another pound in the weights and surely won’t have a better opportunity than today to get his nose in front.

The final mover of the day is ENTRUSTING who is running in the 18:45 at Newcastle who was 4/1 before being hammered into 2/1 best price and as short 13/8. Son of Nathanial, Entrusting is coming back off a few months break and finds himself in company here that surely he is too good for. Some very smart form behind Private Secretary, who has gone on to race in a Group 2 which Japan won this season, jumps off the page. Trainer, James Fanshawe, has had his three-year-old gelded too which should only bring further improvement to what we have already seen in the early part of the season. His sire’s record implies he should relish the all-weather track at Newcastle and this race should be well within his reach. It is obvious why there has been a big move for Entrusting and punters will be hoping he can repay their faith.
