Friday's Horse Racing Market Movers

We take a closer look at the horses moving in the markets across the UK and Ireland today.

The first mover of the day is THE HOLLOW GINGE who runs in the 14:35 at Worcester. He has shortened from 17/8 into a best price of 6/4 and as short as 5/4. Plenty of money is coming in for the Nigel Twiston-Davies horse who should relish the ground conditions this afternoon. He has not been seen since February but punters have not been put off by the lengthy break. He won very well at Haydock on heavy underfoot conditions in December and a return to that sort of form must see him go close today. Sam Twiston-Davies is riding very well at the moment and will be looking to continue his strong partnership with this six-year-old.

Next up, is GIFTED RULER in the 15:25 Haydock. 6/4 earlier in the betting, he is now a best price of 11/10 and evens with some bookies. This two-year-old is the least experienced of the field today but that has not put punters off getting their money down on Richard Kingscote’s ride. A solid fourth on debut, he will have come on a lot for that and will be suited by the soft ground conditions. Half- brother to group winner Kachy, he should have bags of speed and punters are hoping he will show off his ability today.

Lastly, there is MOUNT EVEREST who runs in the 16:45 at Newmarket. He was as big as 6/5 in the betting and is now odds-on across the board, with a best price of 4/5. He only ran for the first time this season two weeks ago and Aidan O’Brien’s three-year-old will be looking to build on a really good comeback run. In the final run of his two-year-old season he finished in second a shoulder behind Japan who won the Juddmonte International this year. Given that form and his promising comeback run it is no wonder the money is pouring in for him. He should have too much for his rivals today and the move for him means plenty of punters will be hoping he does too.
