We take a closer look at the horses moving in the markets across the UK and Ireland today.
The first market mover of the day is BIG NASTY who runs in the 15:10 at Southwell. 3/1 overnight, he has shortened into a best price of 15/8 and as short as 13/8. This gelding ran a really good second at Wetherby back in April and punters are expecting him to build on that this afternoon. He was beaten by the odds-on favourite that day and showed he could be a smart type. Off a break here punters fancy him to do the business in what looks a weak race. On the form he should have too much for his rivals and surely will go on to run in stronger races than this in the future. Martin Keighley will have him poised after his break and plenty will be hoping he can go close today after the money that has come in for him.
Secondly, DARK SILVER is running in the 17:40 at Kempton. He has shortened from 4/1 into a general 5/2 shot. This two-year-old has been running well as of late which has culminated in two second place finishes in his last two starts. Today, he drops down in trip to 5f for the first time since his debut and his progeny suggests this will help him. He may have run poorly that day but he is a different horse from then and he can put that firmly behind him. He is back on the all-weather for the second time and after his display at Wolverhampton which should see him to best effect. Things look to be in favour for Ed Walker’s horse and punters will be expecting a big run after all the money that has come in for him.
Lastly, ROSA is running in the 18:10 at Kempton. She was 2/1 earlier in the betting but is now a best price of 11/10 and as short as 4/5 in places. This move makes for interesting reading given this filly is unraced. A nice pedigree suggests she could have more than enough for her rivals today. It is not the most competitive race and offers a great chance for Hollie Doyle’s mount to win this race on debut. Trainer Archie Watson has a decent record with first-time-out winners so connections will be hopeful of a strong showing. Punters will be too given the move for her today.
