We take a closer look at the horses moving in the markets across the UK and Ireland today.
The first market mover of the day runs in the 13:30 at Navan. KING OF STARS was as big as 7/1 overnight but is now a best price of 7/2 and as short as 5/2. This once raced two-year-old was pretty green on debut and did not find much near the end. However, he will have come on a lot for that and is back here today with every chance. His progeny suggests he should handle the soft ground underfoot today, where as some of his rivals may struggle. Punters are keeping the faith with Joseph O’Briens horse and the move for him suggests he had indeed come on a lot from his debut run at Naas.
Secondly, DANS LE VENT runs in the 14:15 at Ludlow. He was 6/1 earlier in the betting but is now a best price of 3/1 and as short as 5/2. A very interesting gamble given that this is his first run for his new yard. He was beaten a long way on his last start but he is running over fences for the first time and punters clearly think he will take to them well. His mark of 129 is definitely workable and he will be a very interesting watch this afternoon.
Lastly, FIRST VOYAGE is running in the 16:30 at Nottingham. He was 9/1 earlier in the day but is now a best price of 4/1 with some bookies going as short as 100/30. He finished last at Chelmsford with his first run for his new yard back in May, after 680 days off the track. He has been dropped 4lb for that effort and plenty of people must think that is a very good mark. The six-year-old is off such a long layoff and after such a poor run last time it is intriguing the big move for him. He is well worth keeping an eye on to see if the money is correct.
