We take a closer look at the horses moving in the markets across the UK and Ireland today.
The first market mover of the day is EMPLOYER who runs in the 16:00 at Musselburgh. He was as big as 7/1 earlier in the betting but is now a best price of 10/3 and as short as 11/4 in places. He has had a decent handicap season, placing in a number of starts but never being able to get his head in front. The four-year-old is running off the same mark as last time out in which he produced a decent third at Ayr. He has shown he is versatile with underfoot conditions and punters think he should go well on the soft ground today. It would be a deserved win after a strong campaign from Jim Goldie’s horse.
The second mover is YENILLIK who is running in the 16:45 at Gowran Park. He has shortened in from 9/1 into a best price of 3/1 with some bookies going as short as 9/4. This debut campaign has been a learning curve for the three-year-old but he has shown he is improving and his last two efforts in particular suggest there is more to come. His handicap mark has been dropped two pounds since his last effort and punters clearly think it is a very fair mark. Billy Lee takes the ride again today, who has been riding well as of late, and the duo are very much fancied to get off the mark this afternoon.
Finally, we have NOBLE BEHEST who has been the subject of a monster gamble in the 18:25 at Wolverhampton. 25/1 overnight, he is now a best price of 5/1 and as short as 7/2! This five-year-old has struggled so far this season after changing trainer. He is now running off a mark of 65 and having previously won off 76, if he can get back to his best he is clearly a well handicapped horse. Connections could have been aiming for a lower handicap mark and punters believe today will be the day he bounces back to form. The money has been pouring in for him and it will be intriguing to see how he goes today given his last few efforts.
