We take a closer look at the horses moving in the markets across the UK and Ireland today.
The first market mover of the day is THE RIGHT CHOICE who is running in the 15:00 at Windsor. He was as big as 11/1 earlier in the betting but is now a best price of 4/1 and as short as 7/2. This is a massive move for a horse that has badly struggled since scoring a victory at Southwell back in January. He changed trainers to Jamie Osbourne in July and raced in the once a year event at Laytown races finishing seventh. He has dropped rapidly down the weights over the months and punters think his mark of 63 today must be very lenient given his efforts at the back end of last year and the start of this year. It is a big gamble and will be intriguing to see how the four-year-old runs this afternoon.
Secondly, DAN MCGRUE is running in the 16:10 at Plumpton. He has moved in from 4/1 into a general 5/2 shot. A very interesting move given that two of his last three runs he has been pulled up. However, he has gone under wind surgery since then and punters clearly think that will bring out a lot of improvement. He should also enjoy the ground, he has registered two of his three victories on soft and his third last time out also came on soft ground. He has a lot to prove on his recent form but the money coming in for is eye-catching and well worth keeping an eye on.
Lastly, BREAK THE SILENCE is running in the 19:00 at Southwell. He was 15/8 overnight but has shortened into a best price of 6/4 with some bookmakers going as short as 11/10. Scott Dixon’s gelding has become somewhat of a Southwell specialist and punters fancy him land his third success of the season at the track. He has only finished out of the places once in his last seven runs here and given his consistency, it is obvious why the money has come in for the five-year-old. He is two pounds up in the weights for this third place effort last time out and many think that is very workable. Tonight’s task looks well within his reach and punters are expecting a big run after all the money that has come in for him.
