We take a closer look at the horses moving in the markets across the UK and Ireland today.
The first market mover of the day is GHAZAN who is running in the 13:30 at Kempton. You could find him at 14/1 at one stage in the betting but has shortened into a best price of 8/1 with some places going 7/1. Ivan Furtado’s four-year-old is still yet to win in 19 attempts but many think today could be the day he breaks his duck. Rated as high as 75 last year, he now runs off a mark of 61 and on his best form he stands a chance. His effort at Kempton last time out was his first run for his new trainer and he showed glimpses of his ability. He runs there again today and punters will hope his new trainer can get the best out of him and finally score a victory.
Next up is OLLY THE BRAVE who runs in the 14:20 at Hereford. He was 6/4 before being backed into a best price of 10/11 and is as short as 7/10 with some bookmakers. He ran a very solid third on hurdles debut last month and should come on plenty for that. Last season, he landed a decent bumper and is being heavily backed to win today. Dan Skelton’s six-year-old looks like he could develop into quite a smart type and punters think today’s task should be easy going for him.
The final mover of the day is ACEY MILAN who is running in the 14:40 at Plumpton. He was as big as 11/4 earlier in the betting but is now a best price of 15/8 and as short as 6/4 in places. This is a big move for the five-year-old who went off favourite for the 2018 Champion Bumper at Cheltenham. He did not make the transition to hurdles as well as everyone expected last year but he could bounce back to form today. He has undergone wind surgery over the summer and if that has worked he could be running off a very dangerous mark. There was a lot of hype around him the last two seasons and it would be fantastic to see him back to best this afternoon. Punters seem to think he will be too, given the money pouring in for the five-year-old.
