Wednesday's Horse Racing Market Movers

Wednesday's Horse Racing Market Movers

We take a closer look at the horses moving in the markets across the UK and Ireland today.

The first market mover of the day is WARENDORF who is running in the 13:25 at Hexham. He was 8/1 earlier in the betting but has halved in price into 4/1 and is as short as 10/3 in places. This six-year-old was beaten by two lining up here today last time out at Kelso but that hasn’t deterred punters from backing him. He ran a decent enough race and if not for a mistake at the last would have finished in a much better position. He has been dropped 2lb for that effort and punters think he is more than capable of landing the spoils this afternoon. The weights are well within his favour with his rivals and if he has come on for that run last time out then this lightly raced gelding has every chance.

Secondly, we have ITSNOTYOUITSME who is running in the 14:00 at Hexham. He was 20/1 but has been hammered into a best price of 6/1 with some bookmakers going as short as 9/2. This is a massive move for the once raced six-year-old who bumped into a very good horse on debut. The winner has been given an RPR of 121 for that effort and the fact this six-year-old even got relatively close to him is a massive effort in itself. That looks like a huge run on debut and given that he should have learnt a lot from it then there is no reason why he cannot go close today. There are some more experienced horses in the rest of the field but that hasn’t deterred punters from backing this horse from a small yard who are in fantastic form at the moment. It will be interesting to see if he can back up the money and make his opening price of 20/1 look huge this afternoon.

Lastly, MCCRACKENS GATE is running in the 15:30 at Hexham. As big as 20/1 last night, he is now a best price of 15/2 and as short as 13/2 with some bookies. This is an intriguing move for a horse who has been off the track for over a year. The eight-year-old is still a maiden having only raced in Ireland but during his time off the track has changed trainers to Justin Landy who is an exciting up and coming trainer. He has a strong record already in his short time training horses and the money pouring for one of his new recruits is very eye-catching. His form is not anything to write home about but after so much time off and a new trainer moves such as this are always fascinating and is well worth following throughout the day.
