17% chance racing resumes by the 1st of May

The Betfair Market suggests there is still some hope racing can start up again in May

The market ‘UK racing to resume on or before 1st of May’ on the Betfair Exchange has seen just under £17,000 matched on it since it was put on the site following the news that British racing was being suspended until the 1st of May.

The ‘Yes’ option on the market is currently available to back at 6.0, with £133 being matched at this price.

The market implies it is still highly likely that it won’t resume by that date though.

You can back ‘No’ at 1.17 currently. This is an 85% chance that racing will not start again by the 1st of May.

It looks a bleak picture for racing at the moment, but many with still have hope that the show can be put back on the road by May, in time for the 2000 and 1000 Guineas.

‘Yes’ has been matched as low as 4.4, showing some are still optimistic.

The three week lockdown in the UK will hopefully have the desired effect, and however slim, let’s hope the situation looks a lot better by May and we can still enjoy a great summer of racing.
