Betfair Exchange Goodwood Free Bet Streak: Last Tipster Standing Day Two

Betfair Exchange Goodwood Free Bet Streak: Last Tipster Standing Day Two

Our tipsters and staff have got their free bet and picked their selections on day two.

The free bets are settled and in, but what will our experts be using them on?

With the Free Bet Streak, each tipster staked £20 on a horse at Goodwood in the 13:45 on Tuesday and everyone earned a £20 Exchange Free Bet. Now, this is where the fun starts. If the Free Bet wins, you get another free bet the following day and this will go on until each tipster has a loser.

So here goes, our tipsters selections are in alongside a quick reminder that the free bet can be divided into smaller bets and on any sport.

GHAZIYAH, £10 e/w (13:10 Goodwood)
Putting my eggs all in one basket here but when you like one you like it and that’s Ghaziyah. Unexposed over the trip, her form suggests she is well handicapped and she is 10lbs better off with her stablemate. There are plenty of negatives about a few horses in here and she has proven to go well fresh when winning at Thirsk after 250 days off the track and the trainer jockey combination here at Goodwood are 3/16 and 1/4 with horses +£4 with horses returning from a lay-off.

SISKIN, £20 win (15.15 Goodwood)
I am looking no further than the unbeaten Siskin to land what looks a cracking renewal of the Sussex Stakes. The Ger Lyons trained colt had an unblemished 2yo campaign, and then oozed class when landing the Irish 2000 Guineas on his seasonal reappearance on his first start over 1m. He showed a potent turn of foot that day, track and ground should suit, and he should take some beating.

Alex Keating, Commercial Manager

A tricky day at Goodwood to start my Free Bet Streak proper and I’m going to diversify my £20 of free bets with 2 darts who have been well found in the market but should give a bold chance of maintaining the streak.

WALIYAK, £10 win (13:10 Goodwood)
In the opener, Waliyak’s run at Royal Ascot can be upgraded given he was caught on the wrong side there and looked to be running over an inadequate mile trip where late progress was eye-catching. Roger Varian’s charge steps up to a 1m2f trip here where he is thoroughly unexposed and I think this horse could be well beyond a mark of 87. The nearest market rival Ghaziyah is coming back from a 298 day break which would be a worry for me whilst Be More may have been snared by the handicapper.

SISKIN, £10 win (15.15 Goodwood)
The feature Sussex stakes looks like the race of the season and I’m very sweet on Ger Lyons unbeaten raider Siskin. Boxed in by Ballydoyle runners in the Irish 2000 Guineas, the turn of foot this horse showed was extremely impressive and it was hard not to be taken by that performance. Taking this ride will see the jockey Colin Keane subsequently remain in quarantine for 14 days afterwards and although I respect Mohaather based on his Ascot Run in this strong field, 3yos have a brilliant record in this race and Siskin’s receipt of 8lb from that rival makes this a confident vote.

CIRCUS MAXIMUS, £5 win and £5 place (15:15 Goodwood)
Circus Maximus has been seriously overlooked in the Sussex Stakes market and the 9/1 available on the four-year-old is too big to ignore. He won the Queen Anne in typical game fashion, but finds himself three times the price of Mohaather. Mohaather was unlucky that day but I would have them far closer in price here. The Betfair Exchange is offering a three place market, so I will split a £10 stake on the win and extra place market.

STEEL BULL, £20 win (14.45 Goodwood)
Raced once, won once so not an awful lot to go on, but this grey looked the business over the same 5f trip in Ireland earlier this month, and support indicated by sea of blue on oddschecker on Tuesday afternoon suggests that a few of the Irish maybe having a nibble too, with the pie chart suggesting nearly half of oddschecker’s users are siding with him.

A STAR ABOVE, £5 e/w (14:15 Goodwood)
Won his handicap debut earlier in the month and people far more knowledgeable than me say he has potential. William Haggas has a great record with 3-year olds at Goodwood, combine that with a very friendly weight and I've got to take a punt.

SARDINA SUNSET, £10 win (14:45 Goodwood)
The form book tells me she won well last time out in a listed race at York. Last year we saw this race won by another filly and I'm hoping that it happens again.

OLEG, £5 e/w (13:45 Goodwood)
I like the look of Oleg who can stay all day long and will be ridden well under Hollie Doyle. We’ve seen him win since the lockdown at Pontefract and looked handy that day for Paul Nicholls. I’ve decided to go safe on the each-way betting to keep my free bet streak in-tact.
