We have taken a look at the latest betting for the feature race on day one of the 2020 Ebor Festival
The hot favourite Ghaiyyath has already proven popular with oddschecker users since the market opened this morning.
The five-year-old is unbeaten so far this season and currently sits at the top of the market at a best price of 11/8 but is as short as 6/5 with some firms.
Charlie Appleby’s star has taken 35% of bets for the race since this morning, with plenty thinking he will take some catching from the front.
Magical has been supported into second-favourite with some firms after the market opened, being as short as 10/3 with one bookmaker.
She has taken 30% of all bets in the market, only just behind Ghaiyyath currently on oddschecker. She opened 4/1 with plenty of firms, and despite that price still being available, a number of firms have been quick to cut Aidan O’Brien’s mare.
Kameko (12%) is third most popular in the betting, and is a 4/1 chance across the board. Oisin Murphy will be hoping for less trouble in running this time after finding no way through in the Sussex Stakes last month.
Rose of Kildare may be a 100/1 outsider with some bookmakers, but that isn’t putting off some oddschecker users. Mark Johnston's filly is as short as 66/1, so be sure to lock in the best odds if you fancy her chances. The three-year-old filly has taken 9% of bets so far today, which means more money has been placed on her than the 9/2 shot Lord North.
Punters are currently cold on the chances of Lord North, who has taken just 6% of bets for the race. He is unbeaten in his last three races and despite winning the Price of Wales’s Stakes last time out, oddschecker users think this may be a step too far for John Gosden’s gelding.
Aspetar is a 14/1 shot, arriving here after winning the Sky Bet York Stakes in July. This is, of course, a far stiffer task but some oddschecker users are still interested in him. He has taken 8% of bets for the race, with two firms cutting him into 11/1 from 14/1 today.
