Monday's Horse Racing Market Movers

Monday's Horse Racing Market Movers

Each day oddschecker pick out the Market Movers for horse racing in the UK and Ireland, with today's top three in action at Wolverhampton and Fontwell.

How does it work?

The oddschecker Market Movers page allows you to see the horses which have shortened or lengthened the most in the markets since they opened. Steamers are selections that have been well backed and shortened, while drifters have done the opposite.

Each day we look at the races in UK and Ireland to pick out the top three steamers, or selections with the biggest positive Average Market Swing* at the time of writing.

Monday’s Market Movers

1. Fox Power – 19:00 Wolverhampton – 6/1 to 2/1 (16/5 best odds)

First up in the 19:00 at Wolverhampton we have FOX POWER. He’s shortened from 6/1 into 2/1, with 16/5 the best odds currently available. The six-year-old, now trained by Michael Appleby, has been entered to run both at Wolverhampton today and Newcastle on Thursday after four months off the track. He was last seen finishing 10th at Nottingham in October.

2. Kotmask – 13:15 Fontwell – 6/4 to 10/11 (21/20 best odds)

Secondly, in the 13:15 at Fontwell we have KOTMASK. He’s shortened from 6/4 into 10/11, with 21/20 the best odds currently available. Fresh off the back of Goshen’s hugely impressive win on Saturday, trainer Gary Moore could have more to celebrate with this talented juvenile. A winner at this venue back in December, Kotmask is open to progress on this his handicap debut having beaten a subsequent winner in Collingham at Huntingdon last month.

3. Al Ameen – 18:00 Wolverhampton – 11/4 to 7/4 (2/1 best odds)

George Boughey-trained AL AMEEN has shortened from 11/4 into as short as 7/4 favourite for the 18:00 at Wolverhampton. 2/1 is the best price on offer at the time of writing. The three-year-old was a close second over 6f last time out at Lingfield but won over today’s distance at Southwell on New Year’s Day. Callum Shepherd takes the ride again with the drop in trip possibly providing the key for this progressive colt.

*The Average Market Share Swing reflects the impact of betting moves on a particular market. The percentage figure is the increased (steamer) or decreased (drifter) market share for that selection. The effect of non-runners is included in this figure.

Fancy the treble?

Today’s Market Movers combine for a best price 23/1 treble through oddschecker. Meanwhile, the worst odds on the treble are 15/1.
