How does it work?
The oddschecker Market Movers page allows you to see the horses which have shortened or lengthened the most in the markets since they opened. Steamers are selections that have been well backed and shortened, while drifters have done the opposite.
Each day we look at the races in UK and Ireland to pick out the top three steamers, or selections with the biggest positive Average Market Swing* at the time of writing.
Wednesday's Market Movers
1. Bellatrixsa (15:00 Ludlow) – 9/4 to 6/5 (5/4 Best Odds)
First up in the 15:00 at Ludlow we have BELLATRIXSA. She’s shortened from best original odds of 9/4 into 6/5 in some places, with 5/4 the best odds available on oddschecker at the time of writing. She arrives off the back of a second-place finish at Chepstow in mid-January, where she was beaten by 9/4 favourite West To The Bridge. Harry Bannister will be on board once again.

2. Claret Dabbler (15:07 Sedgefield) – 7/2 to 6/4 (15/8 Best Odds)
The Harriet Graham and Gary Rutherford-trained CLARET DABBLER has shortened from 7/2 into 6/4 race favourite for the 15:07 at Sedgefield but remains a best price 15/8. The eight-year-old is yet to race so far in 2022 since a defeat in late December at Catterick. On that day, he had been a similar priced favourite but lost out to Da Vinci Hand.
3. Owen Little (19:30 Kempton) – 11/2 to 7/4 (5/2 Best Odds)
Our third steamer of the day takes us to Kempton, where we have OWEN LITTLE – the subject of a big move from 11/2 into as short as 7/4. He remains a best price of 5/2. The four-year-old’s last victory came at Kempton in late October when he prevailed with an SP of 7/2. As he did for that win, George Rooke has the ride.
