Day 4: Tips and Insight for Each Race

To help you make the most of the free bets that you can claim above, we’ve collated tips and insight from our horse racing experts to identify where you can get the most value.

Triumph Hurdle

The first race of the final day is the Triumph, and this looks a competitive renewal. Willie Mullins appears to have the best hand in this one with Vauban and Pied Piper at the top of the market and both have been well backed by punters.

Our horse racing expert, Architect Tips, has long fancied the chances of Vauban having tipped him in his ante-post preview for this race at 14/1 back in January.

He wrote: “Pied Piper was smart on the flat and marginally got the better of Vauban when the pair clashed on hurdles debut, but it was the latter who impressed me most and looks an attractive proposition at this early stage representing Willie Mullins and owner Rich Ricci.

“He was beaten half-a-length by the former on hurdles debut but was hampered twice and made a costly mistake at the last when mounting a challenge but, considering this, he did extremely well to get as close as he did under the circumstances.”

Since then, Vauban was hugely impressive at Leopardstown in beating the well-regarded Fil Dor. He finds himself as the 2/1 favourite for the Triumph Hurdle and a strong selection for your free bets.

County Hurdle

The most backed horse for the County Hurdle through oddschecker is Colonel Mustard who can currently be found at a best price of 9/1 despite being as short as 7/1 with multiple other bookmakers.

The seven-year-old has taken 21% of bets and looks to be in with a chance of success.

Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle

The Albert Bartlett also looks a competitive affair with Hillcrest and Ginto vying for favouritism at this stage. Hillcrest is the horse that has taken the most bets for this race through oddschecker with 24%. The seven-year-old is a four-time winner of hurdle races and was particularly impressive last time out at Haydock, winning the Albert Bartlett Prestige Novices’ Hurdle by eight lengths.

Gold Cup

Next up is the feature race of the Festival and it’s a wide-open renewal with no clear favourite at this stage. Galvin currently tops the market at a best price of 7/2, closely followed by A Plus Tard at 4/1.

It’s the current favourite that our tipster Stu Williams is backing. As part of this preview, he said: “My preference is for last year’s National Hunt Chase hero Galvin, who appears to be on a steep upward curved judged on his gutsy defeat of A Plus Tard at Christmas.

“Elliott’s eight-year-old will relish every yard of this trip and decent ground would really play to his strengths. Trusty partner Davy Russell knows what it takes to land this race and the duo look to hold solid claims.”

Hunters’ Chase

Billaway is the current favourite for this race and the Willie Mullins 10-year-old has had plenty of support in the market taking 23% of bets. Dubai Quest has been a significant market mover from 14/1 into as short as 8/1 and may well be worth a second look to use a free bet on.

Look out for extra places from bookmakers on our grids for your each-way bets.

Mares’ Chase

The penultimate race of the festival is the Mares’ Chase and Elimay, Mount Ida and Concertista dominate the market at time of writing.

At 9/4, Elimay and Mount Ida are the current joint favourites with Elimay gaining slightly more support with 28% of bets compared to 27% for Mount Ida. This look a very competitive race with the top two expected to be in the mix coming down the home straight barring any mistakes.

Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle

The final race of the day and festival is the Martin Pipe, and the favourite Langer Dan is widely thought to be well handicapped. At 5/1 and taking the largest proportion of bets this looks like a strong selection to secure profit from our final free bet of the day.
