Hollie Doyle’s Royal Ascot Rides: Trueshan almost impossible to beat on soft ground

Obviously, Trueshan will be her most high profile ride of the meeting and having missed last season's Gold Cup due to fast ground, she will be hoping for a drop of rain between now and next Thursday. 

Should she get her wishes from the skies, Alan King's gelding (best price 7/2) will be almost impossible to beat on soft ground. 

Hollie will also be hoping for a drop of rain with Glen Shiel before the Platinum Jubilee and if so, Archie Watson's gelding would have more than a squeak at a big price (40/1). 

Runner-up in the same race last season, the son of Pivotal has run with great credit on his first two starts this season and given his overall record at the Berkshire venue of 401252, it wouldn't be the biggest shock in the world if he were to outrun his current odds.

Staying with Archie Watson, and two-year-olds Brave Emperor and Bradsell could represent the Upper Lambourn handler with distinction in each of their chosen engagements. 

The former has improved markedly on his inauspicious effort on debut to score on his last two starts, while the latter posted a big number on his debut at York. If running, Hollie looks bound to aboard. 

Having teamed up well with Cemhaan at Newmarket last time out, connections of George Baker's gelding will no doubt be looking to acquire her services once again and the way the five-year-old won at HQ despite pulling hard in the early stages strongly suggests he will be a potent force in one of the staying handicaps. 

No doubt Hollie will also be looking at some decent spare outside rides, especially in the handicaps, so keep an eye when the 25-year-old teams up with the likes of William Haggas, Alan King, John & Thady Gosden and Andrew Balding.
