Chemical Energy has come in from 50/1 to 10/1 for the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival 2023 after a 61-length success at the Showcase Meeting.
The six-year-old's trainer Gordon Elliott now plans to give Chemical Energy a five-month break to replicate the preparation afforded to Galvin en route to winning the same Grade 2 National Hunt steeplechase at the Festival in 2021.

Meanwhile, Pied Piper - who reversed a defeat to Knight Salute from the Juvenile Hurdle at Aintree in April - has shortened from 33/1 to 20/1 (12/1 in places) for the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival 2023 after winning the Masterson Holdings Hurdle at the Showcase Meeting.
This market move would probably have been sharper were it not for the strength of Constitution Hill (11/8) and two-time winner Honeysuckle (4/1) at the head of the market. Pied Piper finished 3rd in last year's Triumph Hurdle behind Vauban and Fil Dor.

Finally, Flame Bearer came in from 33s to 20s (14/1 worst) for the Turners Novices' Chase after featuring in star trainer Willie Mullins' stable tour. Sir Gerhard remains the ante-post favourite for the race at a best price 6/1 through oddschecker.
