Ballyburn 40% backed for Champion Hurdle at the 2025 Cheltenham Festival

Ballyburn is attracting big interest in the 2025 Cheltenham markets after romping to victory in the Gallagher Novices’ Hurdle.

More than 40% of bets placed today on Ballyburn for next year's Cheltenham Festival have backed the Gallagher Novices' Hurdle in the 2025 Champion Hurdle.

Ballyburn romped home in Wednesday's opener, taking Willie Mullins to 98 Cheltenham Festival wins - just two short of the magic 100 mark.

While there has been considerable support for the six-year-old in next year's Champion Hurdle (41%), he has also attracted support in the 2025 markets for the Arkle (28%), Turners Novices' Chase (19%) and Brown Advisory Novices' Chase (13%).

The only horse to have commanded more ante-post bets through oddschecker today is Cheltenham Gold Cup defending champion Galopin Des Champs, who has geared up for his defence on defence with impressive wins in the Savills Chase and Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown.

Galopin Des Champs is one of the best staying chasers of the modern era and there’s every chance he could become a dual winner of this race in the feature race of the week.
