El Fabiolo has dominated betting for today’s feature race at Cheltenham.
The Queen Mother Champion Chase is the feature race on Day 2 and is a Grade 1 two mile chase. It is run over the same course and distance as Tuesday’s Arkle and, as such, many Arkle winners have graduated to success in the Queen Mother.
Most recently, Henry de Bromhead’s mare Put The Kettle On followed up her 2020 Arkle win with victory in the 2021 rendition of this race.
The race was given its title in 1980, a year which marked the 80th birthday of the Queen Mother who was a prominent owner of National Hunt horses.
The race has often seen dual winners including Energumene who has won the last two renewals and Altior who was successful in 2018 and 2019. However, only one horse has won the race three times - Badsworth Boy for Michael Dickinson, ridden by Robert Earnshaw.

With the exception of stablemate Energumene, the seven-year-old El Fabiolo - trained by Willie Mullins - is quickly becoming one of the best two-mile chasers.
Rated 175, last year’s Arkle winner is unbeaten in six starts over fences and outclassed his opponents when taking the Grade 1 Dublin Chase last time out.
He can make the odd mistake in his race, but he’s generally a fluent jumper who has so much raw ability, with the world at his feet. It will take something heroically exceptional to see his colours lowered in Wednesday’s feature race - more than 63% of oddschecker punters will be on his side.
